وضع كتاب مبادئ علم الفلك ككتاب لطلبة العلوم والتربية الخاصة في كلية التربية الأساسية التابع لهيئة العامة للتعليم التطبيقي حيث يشرح الكتاب أساسيات علم الفلك مثل قوانين الميكانيكا العامة والفلك وقانون الجذب العام لنيوتن وقوانين كيبلر المتعلقة بحركة الكواكب المجموعة الشمسية.

يسلط الكتاب الضوء على إسهامات بعض علماء الإسلام وإنجازاتهم التاريخية لعلم الفلك، بالإضافة إلى أبرز إنجازات علماء العصر الحديث.
